ATHENS survivor Sarah Tait will create history at the London Games when she becomes the first mother to row for Australia at the Olympics.
One of only two members of the controversial 2004 "Lay Down Sally" women's eight crew still rowing, and Australia's current women's captain, Tait will blaze a new trail in London.
The 28-year-old and her husband-coach Bill are juggling their family quest of winning gold with raising young daughter Leila.
Born a year and a day after the 2008 Beijing Games, Leila will turn three in London where Tait will compete in the highly-fancied women's pair.
